My brainzes...they hurtzzzzzz.........
28th-Dec-2009 05:05 pm - Some folks have asked me lately about
Holiday stories, so I thought it would just be easier to supply a list. In addition, this same list with links can be found over at [info]alysbasement (TS stories under the TS Table of Contents and so on).

You'll find all my holiday TS, SG1 and SGA stories under the cut below.

ALL HOLIDAY STORIES AND LINKS )
27th-Dec-2009 10:05 pm - To say that RTD is a rat
would be to deny the good stuff that preceded the week long fiasco that was the end of Torchwood and ego-fest that is his goodbye to Doctor Who (although we had clues to his ego in a few previous episodes). But nevertheless - I'm saying it. He's a rat. And a bigoted one at that.

First off: under the cut for only the vaguest of spoilers ---

Doctor Who thoughts.... )

But I may have been Cindy Lou Who in another dimension...

Susan Sarandon to David Letterman: "According to the Catholic Church, you can go to Hell when you're seven."

David: "Without a parent or guardian!?!?"

Done wrapping presents, and now it's time for my personal Christmas tradition: turn off all the lights (and the TV) and look at the tree with my glasses off (so the lights are all blurry and perty) and listen to Cartman sing "O Holy Night" on my computer. It's very funny and awesome and I do it every, every year.

Oh what a week. I closed the store every day this week and thank goodness for the big snowstorm; it kept the hordes away the last two days. As it is, I'm awfully tired. I just have to do this one thing and then, finally, it's off to bed.

I wanted to send an e-card to my friends list but I don't think that's possible. Merry merry, everyone!
24th-Dec-2009 04:43 pm - Merry Christmas, Everyone!

May you all have the merriest and brightest holiday season and
may peace around the world become a reality in our lifetime

I hope yesterday was

SPECTACULAR!
19th-Dec-2009 03:44 pm - I got my SSD 'flyer'
online and, as expected, it announced that since the 'cost of living' hadn't risen - neither would my SSD benefit. It left me sad - not because I don't have my 'raise' (like the good old days when working *g*) - but because I suspect my government is lying to me. Why do I suspect this? Because in my neck of the woods, the cost of living did go up - all year. I consider cost of living items (meaning those items that are must haves to live): Rent Utilities Food (the primary food items) Fuel Rent read the facts )
18th-Dec-2009 06:26 pm - To all my flist, for whom today
was the last day of work until Winter Break (or Christmas/New Year's break) is over:
YAHOO!!!
Enjoy, sleep in, eat, drink (don't drive) and be MERRY!!!
18th-Dec-2009 02:55 pm - Got tired of the blue on my
journal - decided to go more Christmassy. :) So now colors changed again. I'm so fickle.
17th-Dec-2009 01:36 pm - I never thought this would happen!
In what is now being called Twiggy-gate, women have finally stood up for their wrinkles and lines and wrecked havoc upon Olay and magazines that use airbrushing to perfect the female form. We roared so loudly, meaning the women in the UK, that the UK actually banned the entire set of ads done by Twiggy for Olay's new eye defining product, stating that they mislead the public as to what the product could actually do! Well, duh.proof is in the pudding or photoshoot )

17th-Dec-2009 01:21 pm - *sobs silently*
One of my forever all time favorite actresses has died. Jennifer Jones. Oh, how I wanted her hair and eyes and talent. The photo I chose is from my favorite movie, Love Letters, with Joseph Cotton. I loved this movie so much, I'd stay home from school if it were on, not to mention actually 'adapting' it to a TS story. I doubt there was a movie of hers I didn't love - be it Portrait of Jenny (still want to adapt that too - but with a vastly different ending), the WWII 'women at home' movie, Since You Went Away, which was particularly poignant as she and her co-star, Robert Walker were divorcing (they'd actually married in Chicago before either were stars and came to Hollywood together) and they had to play lovers. It's said that he never got over her - and I think it shows in this movie. And since she was in love with David O. Selznick at the time (and later married him), it's a testament to her talent that we could believe 100% in her character's love for Robert Walker's character and her devastation when he died.
